CHAPTER 16
After Devon left, he decided to just go back at the bar and let alcohol cure his heartaches. He didn't know that Devon was just not too far watching him as she knows that he's not a big drinker. So little consumed of alcohol in his body would really get him drunk. But no matter how much hatred she's feeling right now, she still cares for him, so she decided to approach him and stop him from drinking any more alcohol. "Tama na yan! Marami ka nang nainom, halika ka na ihahatid na kita sa hotel mo, saan ba yon?"-Devon. "Devon? I knew it! You still love me, I really miss you! I miss you miss you miss you!!!!"-Sam. Thou she wanted to take him to his hotel but he was too drunk to even remember so she decided to just bring him along with her at their hotel. While walking Sam just started talking saying things randomly as he mumbles. "Miss, teka sino ka ba? Saan mo ako dadalin? Baka makita ka ng girlfriend ko Si Devon. Magagalit yun sayo, love na love ko yun kahit medyo masungit minsan."-Sam. "Devon didn't know what to say upon hearing what Sam is saying. "Lasing ka na! tama na ang salita>"-Devon. "Sino lasing ako? Kahit lasing pa ako kayang kaya kong ipangalandakan sa buong syudad kung gaano ko ka mahal si Devon Mae Seron. Teka lang miss sandali lang wait ka lang dyan."-Sam. As he tries to walk away from her and started screaming for her name. "Devon!!! Devon Mae Seron, I LOVE YOU VERY VERY MUCH!"-Sam. "Uy! tama na yan! Nakakahiya na pinagtitinginan ka na ng mga tao."-Devon. "Hayaan mo silang magtinginan naiinggit lang sila dahil I'm a one lucky man to have a girlfriend like her."-Sam. The anger that she's been hiding suddenly disappeared after hearing Sam. She just gave him a sweet smile and started walking again to go to their room.
While they were both inside the elevator, Sam didn't want to stop from talking. He was that wasted. "Miss, alam mo ba kamukha mo yung girlfriend ko eh, maganda din parang ikaw. Simple din, hindi mahilig sa make up per napaka ganda. Alam mo ma na may kanta kami nun eh, isa yun sa mga pinramis ko sa kanya. Alam mo ba yung kantang "I'll be Careful With your Heart?"- -Sam. Then he started singing it while they're inside the elevator. Devon just contain her sadness and she finally broke down in tears. As much as she wanted to have a serious talk with him, but he was too drunk to understand it. All she can think of is..."What happened to us Sam? Bakit tayo tuluyang nagkaganito? I know I was too selfish, puro sarili ko lang inintindi ko. Humingi ka na ng tawad pero hindi ko parin sayo binigay yung kapatawaran na yun. I'm sorry, I'm really really sorry and I miss you! "As she was thinking outloud. As soon as they got to their floor, she took him in and put him on the couch where he'll be sleeping for the night. Ann was already asleep, so she didn't know that Sam was inside their room. Devon got him ready for bed, she took a face towel and basin of cold water to wipe it on Sam face. She didn't know that she's been staring at him for quite some time now until he started moving that got her switched back to reality.
The next day, Sam slowly opened up his eyes and noticed that he is not inside his room. Then suddenly he noticed a very familiar figure by the dining table.."Devon?"-Sam. "Oh! Gising ka na pala, ok ka lang ba?You were too drunk last night kaya dito nalang kita dinala hindi ko kasi alam yung hotel mo eh."-Devon. "How did you know I was even drinking?And ikaw lang nagdala sa akin dito?"-Sam. "Ahhh... ehhh... kasi..."-Devon. She didn't know how to answer his question as she does not want him to know that she was watching him last night. "Ahhh...kasi sakto napadaan ako sa bar eh nandun ka, nahalata ko kasi na medyo lasing ka na eh. Alam ko naman na hindi ka palainum."-Devon. "Ganun ba?And for that thank you! Thank you for taking care of me. Akala ko kasi you don't care about me anymore eh. Alam ko naman ang kasalang nagawa ko sayo Devon eh. Ang hinihiling ko lang eh yung mapatawad ko ako."-Sam. Devon was speechless, she gave him a sweet smile, stood up and hugged him very tightly. "kagabi ko lang napatunayan kung gaano mo ako ka mahal, and thank you for that. What you did was enough, wala ka man maalala sa ginawa mo, pero kagaya nga ng kasabihan ang tao paglasing dun lang lumalabas ang tunay nilang nararamdaman. Dun nila nasasabi lahat ng mga nasa loobin nila."-Devon. "So does this mean you've forgiven me?'-Sam. "Yes, pinapatawad na kita. Kalimutan na natin ang mga ngyari, ayaw ko ng alalahanin yun."-Devon. "Thank you! Thank you for your forgiveness, I promise you next time hindi na ako maglilihim sayo ulit."-Sam. "Subukan mo lang maglihim ulit at baka mapatay na kita next time."-As she jokingly tell him.
